Vinegar, and particularly apple cider vinegar, is often an ingredient in home remedies for sinus issues. According to "The Natural Remedy Book for Women," apple cider vinegar can clear out stuffed nasal passages and prevent further problems, such as infections, by stopping the histamine reaction to allergens and killing bacteria. You can also use vinegar to treat sinus headaches related to allergies.
VAPORIZER
Combining apple cider vinegar with the water in your vaporizer can clear out the deep-set congestion that causes painful sinus headaches. "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Household Solutions" recommends adding about 1/4 cup of the vinegar to the normal amount of water in the vaporizer, then breathing in the vapors for about 10 minutes. Lay down and rest quietly for about 30 minutes to allow the headache to completely disappear.
Additionally, when calcium and lime deposits build up within the vapor spout, running the vaporizer with a strong concoction of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water will assist in removing mineral deposits and restoring your vaporizer to its former glory.

SYRUP
Taking a dose of apple cider vinegar-based syrup can kill bacteria that causes sinus infections and relieve sinus pressure and congestion. "Joey Green's Amazing Kitchen Cures" offers a simple recipe for a mixture. Combine equal parts apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store the syrup in a cool, dark spot and take 1 tbsp. up to six times a day.
DAILY DRINK
Drinking a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water, even when you're feeling fine, can prevent sinus issues from forming. According to "The Natural Remedy Book for Women," mixing up 8 oz. of cool water with 1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp. of honey works to both clear congestion and prevent further issues. Consume this remedy up to three times a day, one glass with each meal.
HORSERADISH SAUCE
A strong horseradish sauce, spread on crackers, bread or vegetables, can work wonders for severely blocked sinuses. "Rosemary Gladstar's Herbal Recipes for Vibrant Health" recommends grating a small piece of fresh horseradish root into a bowl, then stirring in apple cider vinegar and honey to taste. Store the horseradish sauce in the refrigerator in a glass container with a tight-fitting lid and eat 1 to 2 tsp. each day. The spread will keep for about six months.
